Volleyball Game Preview: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Gilbert Tigers

The Campo Verde Coyotes will square off against the Gilbert Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Campo Verde is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Arizona College Prep, who was ranked 12th at the time (Campo Verde was ranked 11th). The Coyotes fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Coyotes' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Higley, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-13.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Campo Verde, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-7.

Everything went Campo Verde's way against Gilbert when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Campo Verde made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
