Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials vs. Garfield Bulldogs

The Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials and the Garfield Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Plymouth Whitemarsh is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.

Plymouth Whitemarsh is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 63-54 to the Friars/Pandas. The loss put an end to the Colonials' undefeated start to the season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mani Sajid, who posted 20 points. That was a full 37% of Plymouth Whitemarsh's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jack Hayes, who put up five points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garfield). They claimed a resounding 95-51 victory over Nathan Hale. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Garfield and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
