Basketball Game Preview: West Point-Beemer Cadets vs. Oakland-Craig Knights

The West Point-Beemer Cadets will be taking part in a tournament against the Oakland-Craig Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

West Point-Beemer saw some tournament action on Thursday. They lost to Pender on the road by a 44-29 margin. The contest marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Addison Toelle, who posted 12 points. What's more, she also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Mia Hunke, who scored five points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Oakland-Craig faced North Bend Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Oakland-Craig took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Bend Central. The Knights have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

West Point-Beemer's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Oakland-Craig, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-3.

West Point-Beemer came up short against Oakland-Craig when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 49-45. Can West Point-Beemer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
