Baseball Game Preview: Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas vs. Riverdale Baptist Crusaders

The Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas will take on the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Thursday, it was close, but Georgetown Prep sidestepped St. Albans for a 3-1 win. The Little Hoyas haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Riverdale Baptist had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted against the Mustangs since April 22, 2021.

CAMERON PHILLLIPS tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, JAYDEN JOHNSON was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. CHRISTIAN OLA also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The victory got Georgetown Prep back to even at 5-5. As for Riverdale Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
