Basketball Game Preview: Bladensburg Mustangs vs. Bowie Bulldogs

Bladensburg is 2-8 against Bowie since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bladensburg Mustangs will challenge the Bowie Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Bladensburg is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They lost 87-61 to Laurel. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Spartans are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Bowie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 57-52 to Eleanor Roosevelt. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bladensburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1. As for Bowie, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Bladensburg came up short against Bowie in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 61-50. Can Bladensburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
