Lakota West is 7-2 against Colerain since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Firebirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakota West has four straight wins, Colerain has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Lakota West will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Badin, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Firebirds came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Colerain lost 3-0 to Goshen on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered against the Warriors since October 9, 2017.

Colerain was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-13.

Colerain now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Lakota West, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Lakota West took their win against Colerain in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
