After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clinton, Lexington was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lafayette County Huskers by a score of 8-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Minutemen as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Drew Bollmeyer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Johnny Groves also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lexington's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Lafayette County, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.
