Preview: Chisum Mustangs vs. Leonard Tigers
The Chisum Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Leonard Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Leonard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chisum, who comes in off a win.
Chisum has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. They really took it to Detroit for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-31 victory at home. With Chisum ahead 35-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Emma Garner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 blocks. The matchup was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Bradberry, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Leonard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 37-31 to Howe. Leonard has struggled against Howe recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losses dropped Chisum to 8-7 and Detroit to 3-12.
Chisum took their win against Leonard in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 59-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chisum since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
