Basketball Recap: Perry Meridian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Perry Meridian can now relate to. They lost 52-29 to the Mooresville Pioneers on Tuesday. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured 20 losses in a row.

Perry Meridian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ally Raymer, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Raymer has posted since back in November of 2023. Ella Cross also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

It was another big night for Ava Shafer, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points for Mooresville. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Holtzclaw, who scored 13 points and three steals.

Perry Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Mooresville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.

Perry Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mooresville, they will face off against Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
