Basketball Recap: Kosciusko Skates Past Forest with Ease

Kosciusko won the last time they faced Forest and things went their way on Saturday too. The Kosciusko Whippets claimed a resounding 80-47 victory over the Forest Bearcats. The Whippets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 32 points or more this season.

Kosciusko's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Cole, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaybre Pierce, who went 6 for 8 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Kosciusko smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Kosciusko is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Forest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Kosciusko wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-44 victory against West Lowndes on the 17th. As for Forest, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Forest Bearcats challenge the Morton Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
