Volleyball Recap: Shoreland Lutheran Triumphs

Shoreland Lutheran saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Racine Park Panthers.

Shoreland Lutheran easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-20.

Morgan Curcio paced Shoreland Lutheran's offense, picking up eight kills. Curcio got some help from Hailey Grove and her 15 assists. Grove also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ashley Bunkelman, each putting up three.

Despite the loss, Racine Park still got an impressive performance from Jenna Quirk, who had 11 digs and one assist. Quirk has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Shoreland Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 12-23. As for Racine Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Shoreland Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Pius XI Catholic on the 11th. As for Racine Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Luther Prep on the 11th.
