Mize got themselves on the board against Richton on Friday, but Richton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Holder Mcalpin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Trey Myers was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Parker Himmel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Mize was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Mize has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Richton, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-18.

Mize didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Sylva Bay Academy on the 5th. As for Richton, they will square off against Collins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
