Softball Recap: Oswego Panthers vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers
With a playoff game on the line, Oswego rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for Oswego who now have four in a row.
Jaelynn Anthony made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Anthony has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Anthony was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylee LaChappell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played.
Oswego has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their loss dropped their record down to 23-10.
