Apopka is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Timber Creek is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Blue Darters will welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Timber Creek's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Apopka hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Blue Darters never let Bishop Moore get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Darters, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ava Millspaugh was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Mia Aeschilman looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Apopka let Ava Gonzalez and Taylor Smith run wild. Gonzalez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Smith went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. Another player making a difference was Hagan Mcgatlin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Apopka hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Canine Competition, Timber Creek came out on top. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Lyman on Wednesday.
Rowyn Joyce was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jenna Klein was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Apopka has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Timber Creek, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Everything went Apopka's way against Timber Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Apopka made off with a 12-1 win. Do the Blue Darters have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
