Soccer Game Preview: Treutlen vs. Towns County

The Treutlen Vikings will square off against the Towns County Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Treutlen has given up an average of 6.7 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Treutlen's offense. They lost 9-0 to Dooly County last Friday. While losing is never fun, Treutlen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Dooly County are ranked 202nd).

Meanwhile, Towns County waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Leopards.

Towns County pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those six contests. As for Treutlen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.
