Softball Recap: Teaneck Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against NV - Demarest, Teaneck was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cliffside Park Raiders 6-4. This was payback for the Highwaymen, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Olivia Rottner made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Adelyn Perez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Guerrero, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Teaneck's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cliffside Park, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Teaneck will take on Bergenfield at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cliffside Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clifton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
