Softball Preview: Whitney Young Dolphins vs. Taft Eagles        
        
		
            
 After two games on the road, Whitney Young is heading back home. They will take on the Taft Eagles at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Friday, Whitney Young sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-3  victory over Loyola Academy.
  Liani Delgado looked comfortable as she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits over four innings pitched.
 At the plate,  Chiqui Vazquez was  excellent,  going 4-for-4 with two  doubles and  an  RBI.  Kate Coonan was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Taft came tearing into  in their third game  on Saturday's  contest with six straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  an   8-4  win over the Bison.
  Jiselle Hernandez tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Mia Perez was a standout: she scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Joselyn Ulloa, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
 Whitney Young's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
 Monday's   game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Whitney Young hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like Taft struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
