Baseball Recap: Monroe Catholic Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Valley, Monroe Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the North Pole Patriots 15-14. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Isaiah Snow made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brian Bast, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Monroe Catholic is 2-1 when Bast posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landon MacNaughton, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Monroe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Monroe Catholic's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6-1. As for North Pole, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Monroe Catholic will face off against Delta at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Pole, they will take on Hutchison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
