Baseball Recap: Lincoln-Way East Victorious

On Monday Lincoln-Way East's undefeated season almost came to an end. They skirted past the Troy Trojans 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Griffins as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Tyler Osmanski looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Johnson was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-1. Tyler Hudik was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln-Way East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Lincoln-Way East's record is now 6-0. As for Troy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way East will challenge Coffee at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they will take on Lincoln-Way West at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
