Softball Game Preview: Washington County Commanders vs. Bardstown Tigers

For the second straight game, Washington County will face off against Bardstown. The Commanders are taking a road trip to square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Washington County played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They put the hurt on Bardstown with a sharp 9-1 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ashtyn Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kynslee Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Marlee Tennill also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Washington County's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Bardstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
