Volleyball Recap: Oakwood's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Oakwood came into Tuesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Iroquois West Raiders on Tuesday. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 26-24.

Kendyl Rogers went supernova, getting 16 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtyn Dailey, who had ten assists and eight digs.

Oakwood's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Iroquois West, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oakwood is set to face off against their familiar foe Salt Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Iroquois West will square off against rival Milford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
