Basketball Recap: Maspeth Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-36, which was the final score in the Maspeth Argos's tilt against The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria Phoenix on Wednesday. The contest marked the Argos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Maspeth fell to 4-1. As for The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Maspeth and Queens Teaching will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Argos will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, they will challenge Queens Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
