Basketball Recap: Elijah Horn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmetto Scholars Academy over Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics

Palmetto Scholars Academy lost against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix took a 61-43 bruising from the Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Wildcats. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palmetto Scholars Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elijah Horn, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Maddox Austin, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Palmetto Scholars Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach White led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, White is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Plis, who went 6 of 15 en route to 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Palmetto Scholars Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
