After a string of six wins, Elite's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Wood Wildcats an easy 53-27 victory. The Eagles were red-hot offensively headed into the matchup (they scored no less than 55 points in the seven games prior) but the Wildcats' defense proved too tough.

Elite's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3. As for Wood, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Elite and Wood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings.
