Baseball Recap: Omro Comes Up Short

Omro made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Winnebago Lutheran Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Foxes fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Foxes have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brock Frye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Omro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Loker, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Tanner Piper also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Omro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Winnebago Lutheran Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Omro will square off against Winneconne at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Winnebago Lutheran Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Kewaskum at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
