Basketball Recap: Silver Fighting Colts vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish
After flying high against Santa Teresa on Monday, Silver came back down to earth. The Fighting Colts took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fighting Colts came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in New Mexico, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 588th in Texas).
Cathedral was led to victory by John M. Leydon and Miguel Hernandez. Leydon dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds, while Hernandez went 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points and seven boards.
