Softball Recap: Lynn Classical Finds Home Field Redemption Against Malden

There's no place like home for Lynn Classical, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Malden Golden Tornados with a sharp 17-3 win on Monday. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Tornados, too.

Aliany Ramirez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Chevalier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Mia Duncan was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lynn Classical's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Malden, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Lynn Classical will be playing in front of their home fans against Swampscott at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Big Blue's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Malden, they will challenge Revere at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
