Baseball Game Preview: Dimmitt Bobcats vs. Shallowater Mustangs

Dimmitt is 0-7 against Shallowater since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Dimmitt made easy work of Friona and carried off a 14-4 victory. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Shallowater came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers an 8-0 shutout. Eight seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The victory made it two in a row for Dimmitt and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Shallowater, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Dimmitt might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Shallowater when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
