Baseball Recap: Charlotte Latin Triumphs

Charlotte Latin won the last time they faced Union Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Jackson Coble tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlotte Latin let Avery Booker and Hudson Shoup run wild. Booker went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run, while Shoup went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Booker has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Holland, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.

Charlotte Latin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Academy only posted a batting average of .200.

Charlotte Latin's record is now 18-3. As for Union Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Charlotte Latin will host Providence Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
