Volleyball Recap: West Branch Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

West Branch came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Austintown-Fitch Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since August 29, 2024.

While West Branch ultimately came up short, they really made Austintown-Fitch work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 28-26, 25-14.

Audrey Ring paced West Branch's offense, picking up seven kills. Ring got some help from Kendelle Hoopes and her 11 assists. Chloey Sanor controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

West Branch's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Austintown-Fitch, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, West Branch will take on Howland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Austintown-Fitch, they will challenge Archbishop Hoban at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
