It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Villa Joseph Marie ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jems as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Faith Fox spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Villa Joseph Marie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenzie Peters, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Villa Joseph Marie's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Villa Maria Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coming up, Villa Joseph Marie will face off against Gwynedd Mercy Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Maria Academy, they will challenge Bayard Rustin at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Knights will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hurricanes surely won't give up without a fight.
