O'Fallon faced Edwardsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers skirted past the Tigers 3-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Asher Cantu was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

O'Fallon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Edwardsville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9.

Looking ahead, Edwardsville will head out to square off against East St. Louis at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. O'Fallon will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' game: after the Tigers face off against the Flyers, they'll take on O'Fallon again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
