Softball Recap: Vacaville Takes a Loss

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Vacaville had to take the L. They fell 7-2 to the American Canyon Wolves on Thursday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Laila Dean was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Marissa Cueva also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Vacaville and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for American Canyon, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vacaville will venture away from home to challenge Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Canyon, they are taking a road trip to take on Wood at 4:00 p.m. on March 13th.
