Volleyball Recap: Southside Falls Despite Big Games from Annalynn Silverthorne and Elanor Davis

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northside - Pinetown Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Southside sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-27, 25-17, 24-26, 15-5.

Southside's loss came despite strong showings from Elanor Davis and Annalynn Silverthorne. Davis had 29 digs, while Silverthorne had 13 digs and two aces. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Northside - Pinetown, they moved to 8-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

As of now, neither Southside nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
