League recap: Newman climbs in state rankings

2A District 10 recap September 17, 2013

Newman scaled the state rankings by moving to 82 from 117 this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 10. The Greenies climbed the ranks as a result of beating Riverdale 54-13.

Newman took down the Rebels 54-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Riverside's dynamic duo of Deuce Wallace and Herb McGee proved tough for Loranger to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wallace threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns and McGee had 92 yards receiving. Darrion Cook helped Riverside's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 83 yards.

The Rebels' dynamic duo of Wallace and McGee proved to be unstoppable against the Wolves, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Wallace put up the best numbers through the air as Riverside defeated Loranger.

He went 10-20 with 2 interceptions.

McGee was the best receiver in the league this week as Bill Stubbs' team defeated sam messina's team.

Brandon Hymel was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Rebels defeated the Wolves. The 5-foot-9 junior.

Larry Bush was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 125 yards as Wright bested Loranger. Teammate Derek Robinson added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.

Nelson Stewart's team led 2A District 10 in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Riverdale.
