Volleyball Recap: Bishop Kenny Victorious

Bishop Kenny hadn't done well against Santa Fe recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Crusaders came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 3-1. The game was the first time the Crusaders have beaten the Raiders on their court since October 31, 2020.

Bishop Kenny had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.

Bishop Kenny found their leader in sophomore Mia Ancayan, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Ancayan. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Sowers, who had 35 digs.

Bishop Kenny's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Santa Fe, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

Bishop Kenny didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Doral Academy on the 19th. As for Santa Fe, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Forest on the 18th.
