Volleyball Game Preview: Lower Brule Sioux vs. Corsica/Stickney Jaguars

The Lower Brule Sioux will head out on the road to square off against the Corsica/Stickney Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lower Brule will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each match than the last.

Lower Brule is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Colome. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sioux as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 25-9.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corsica/Stickney, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Scotland last Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-7.

Lower Brule better focus on containing Cali Vanden Hoek and Remi Nelson as the pair were huge in Corsica/Stickney's win. Vanden Hoek had 12 digs, while Nelson had 14 assists. Vanden Hoek is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Corsica/Stickney was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.
