Baseball Recap: Williams Field's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Williams Field's victory against Gilbert wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Black Hawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 10-9 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Black Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jaxin Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Nikolas Ramirez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kowalczyk, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Williams Field kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Williams Field's record is now 13-5. As for Gilbert, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams Field will welcome Desert Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Gilbert, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
