Football Recap: Molina Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Molina extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 65-0 loss at the hands of the Newman Smith Trojans. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Jaguars were not able to get on the board.

As for Newman Smith, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. They have beaten Molina the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Molina has come to flipping the script.

Axel Lofstrand looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 147 yards and two TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Molina is set to take on their familiar foe Sunset at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Newman Smith will face off against rival North Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 883 yards in their previous games.
