Brady Goodman Turns in Season-Best  Performance
 On Thursday, Mountain View got the W thanks in part to  Brady Goodman playing the best football he has all season. Goodman threw for 150 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown, good enough to  set a new career-high in  rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  he has now  passed for three or more in the last five games he's  played dating back to last season.
 The  win (which was Mountain View's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Goodman and Mountain View will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mesa at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

 On Thursday, Desert Ridge had to settle for second even though  Andrew Hines put up the best numbers he has all season. Hines picked up  three  sacks, forced a fumble,  and made seven total tackles.
 Desert Ridge is  on  an  eight-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. Hines and Desert Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tolleson at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.

 Cesar Chavez found a leader in  Myles Johnson as the  team took down Desert Ridge on Thursday. Johnson was unstoppable, rushing for 43 yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
 Cesar Chavez pushed their record up to 4-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Johnson and Cesar Chavez will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Westwood at 7:00  p.m.  on October 17th.
