After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Homewood finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calera Eagles. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Homewood's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Calera, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Homewood and Calera should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Homewood will square off against Jackson-Olin at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st up 155 places (4 vs. 159). Homewood is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Calera (ranked 16th) will meet Montevallo (ranked 69th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
