Baseball Recap: Maine East Comes Up Short

Maine East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They lost 12-3 to the Evanston Wildkits. If the Blue Demons were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Wildkits when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maine East got a good showing from Keon Lapez, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave Lapez a new career-low.

Maine East's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Evanston, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maine East will take on Payton College Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Evanston, they will be playing at home against Lincoln Park at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
