Apache and Mangum are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2014, but not for long. The Apache Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Mangum Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Thursday, Apache was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-16 to Merritt. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mangum put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Watonga 34-7 on the road. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Austin Solis went supernova for Mangum, rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Solis' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. Avery Rogers made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Mangum's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Rogers and Max Richardson. What's more, Rogers also racked up 63 rushing yards, the mosthe's had since back in September of 2023. Another thorn in Watonga's side was Jake Green, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mangum was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Watonga only rushed for 144.

Apache's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Mangum, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
