Stigler and Sallisaw are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Stigler Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sallisaw Black Diamonds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stigler has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Stigler is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 79-40 victory over Westville. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Sallisaw suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Stilwell by a score of 57-54. While losing is never fun, the Black Diamonds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Indians are ranked 54th).

Sallisaw has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points over those games. As for Stigler, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Stigler didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sallisaw in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. Does Stigler have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sallisaw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
