Volleyball Recap: Winter Haven Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Winter Haven was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ridge Community on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils came up short against the Calvary Christian Warriors on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Winter Haven had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Emily Drier paced Winter Haven's offense, picking up eight kills. Drier got some help from Addison Traina and her 13 assists. Finally, Drier was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Winter Haven's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Calvary Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Winter Haven will face off against Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian, they will challenge Seminole at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
