Basketball Recap: Alamogordo Comes Up Short

Alamogordo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 48-23 to the Centennial Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-36 back in January.

Despite the loss, Alamogordo still got an impressive performance from Teeya Gordon, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. Gordon has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played.

Centennial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joy Hunt out in front who earned 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Perrault, who scored five points and eight steals.

Alamogordo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Alamogordo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-44 win against Organ Mountain on the 10th. As for Centennial, they have also already played their next contest, a 39-36 loss against Mayfield on the 10th.
