Football Recap: Aldine Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Aldine extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-10. They were outmatched by the Spring Lions and fell 49-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 17, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Jace Shanklin threw for 33 yards on five of nine attempts. On the ground, Tariq Gary rushed for 40 yards.

As for Spring, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Spring got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Vincent Lee out in front who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Lee is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Emanuel Bowen, who rushed for 75 yards and one score on only five carries.

As of now, neither Aldine nor Spring have any future games scheduled.
