Basketball Recap: Joseph City Finds Playoff Glory Versus Salome

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Joseph City had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Salome Frogs with points to spare, taking the game 33-16.

Salome's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Thomas, who posted six points. Thomas has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brittny Soberanes, who put up three points and three steals.

Joseph City's win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points over those games. As for Salome, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.

Joseph City has already played their next contest, a 64-36 victory against St. David on the 22nd. Salome does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
