Basketball Recap: Crescent Comes Up Short

Crescent lost against Garber back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Crescent Tigers fell just short of the Garber Wolverines by a score of 51-48. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Wolverines are ranked 93rd).

Despite the loss, Crescent saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoey Deangelis went 10 for 13 on her way to 22 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deangelis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trinity Webster, who posted 14 points and seven boards.

Crescent has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Garber, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

Crescent has already played their next contest, a 71-47 defeat against Perry on the 8th. Garber has also already played their next game (against Covington-Douglas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
