Softball Game Preview: Holly Grove Christian Eagles vs. Nandua Warriors

The Holly Grove Christian Eagles will square off against the Nandua Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Holly Grove Christian took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Sts. Peter & Paul, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sabres on Thursday, sneaking past 20-19. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Madison Dunn, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Araya Harrison, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Nandua narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Crisfield 12-11.

The win got Nandua back to even at 2-2. As for Holly Grove Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Holly Grove Christian took their victory against Nandua in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 30-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
